    For Immediate Release- May 29, 2007 (Vernon, NJ)- America’s premier downhill event, the U.S. Open of Mountain Biking, took place this past weekend at Diablo Freeride Park under sunny skies, a full pit of teams and a nearly sold-out race roster. Top racers from seven different countries and 35 different U.S. states competed at Diablo Freeride Park to take part in America’s richest and most prestigious downhill event.

Reading Racing results

The results from the Duryea Downhill are in, Congratulation are in order to Igor Ponomaryon for getting first place in Senior Beginner Men Division. And a big ups goes to Mario "Lucky" Rojas for taking fourth, but almost had 3rd if it wasn't for a crash near the end. And also Yonathan Arava and Alex Murenko for going out there and doing their thing.

Harlan Price Takes Win in Inaugural Manhattan, NYC, yeah, it’s XC, but it’s NYC

New York, NY - Mountain bike racers took Manhattan by storm this past Sunday, celebrating the grand opening of the first legal mountain bike trails in NYC with the inaugural NYCMTB All-City Cross-Country race. Ultra 100 series champ and NORBA Marathon racer Harlan Price (Independent Fabrication) took the win in the pro class after setting a blistering 11 mph pace in his first lap of the grueling and technical 2.25 mile course.

FREE REPAIR CLINIC TONIGHT, WEDNESDAY, MAY 23RD AT 8:15PM

 

 

 

 Every Wednesday evening for the month of May, Sid's Bikes NYC is hosting a free repair clinic at our new Chelsea store, located at 151 W 19th St (7th Ave).

Topics will include: Changing tires & tubes, adjusting your brakes and gears, lubrication demystified, roadside repairs, tips and tricks of the trade and anything more advanced that the class would like to delve into. There will be time for questions and answers.

No need to bring your own bike, we will provide a demonstration bike. The clinic starts at 8:15pm, and will run for at least 1 hour.

U.S. Open is This Weekend!

This weekend is the U.S. Open of Mountain will be held at Mountain Creek. Besure to register if you plan to race since there a cap on how many people will be allowed to race the qualifiers.
 
Here is the line on what to accept this weekend.

12:00pm – 4:00pm Race Course Inspection (Hiking only, no lift service, no bikes on course)

Well. since you didn't this was happening I thought maybe I would help spread the word. Next week is the grand opening of Highbridge Trails and Dirtjumps, Saturday will be a more of a festival with music, bikes and give-aways and Sunday will be the first Official XC Race in NYC. Come out and support this great project, which has been in the making by NYCMTB.com and many volunteers.

among others. Lots great prizes and raffle items from all of them.

Ribbon cutting is at 11 am. Pro jump demo from 11:30-noon.

Also, just wanted to put it out there that we're doing an amateur jump jam from 1-3. No cost to enter, just show up and ride. Prizes for a few categories, and the rider with the best trick, as judged by the pros and fans on hand, walks away with a new bike, courtesy of Sids. More details to come, of course, but that's where we're at. Oh year- separate categories for BMX and MTB, with great prizes for both.
