This is for all you weight freaks and bmxicans.  I've been testing out a couple sets of plastic pedals recently and found them to have ample grip in most situations. Only wet or sideways landings would break the grip on the pc's.  I combined the best of both worlds with adding pins to the pc's.  Now they have major grip and the same light weight.  With 4 pins per side the pedals weighed 2 grams more per pedal.  Use a 7/64" drill bit to punch the holes in the corners of pedal, then just screw the set pins right in.  I went to homedepot and got long 4mm x 12mm pins for very cheap.  The pins feel just as solid as normal metal pedals would.  I can't believe nobody else thought of this one.  I think you could apply this to any pc pedal, but the snafu have circles from the casting to guide you when drilling.

nice work.  the plastic jc's from odyssey will have metal pins.  wellgo makes some crappy looking pedals with metal pins.  also some other re-branded joints look the same as the wellgo's.

Thats funny, and the same exact pedal.  I guess everyone uses wellgo's designs.  that pic is making want to put 2 more pins per side.  The 4 per side seems like enough traction for me.

I think I'm switching back to some real metal pedals.  Those pc's just don't cutt it, specially in wet dirty conditions, even with my modification.  I've been watching some pro bmx events lately and have noticed sooo many pro's slipping off those plastic pedals on simple landings.  Anyone else have opinions/expieriences with pc's?

BTW Wellgo MG-1 mags weigh the same as most pc's and have sealed bearings. They are also Plattekill DH tested and approved by me.

I've never seen you ride like a pussy.  Plus your hitting everything upstate already on a freeride bike, after how many seasons? 1-2?  It usually takes people 3 -5 seasons upstate to loosen up and start airing out.  As far as those pc pedals, I think they work good in most situations,  slippage is inevitable.
