If you destroy one of the toughest aluminum bikes ever made, the logical move is to get the stronger steel bike. This is exactly the same decision I had to make when my old Super 8 started to fail. The only difference is that I paid $3500 for a frame only, and loved it. $3000 complete is a no brainer. If that's too much right now $300 for a Trek Deisel is a no brainer. Without a bike there is no progression.
